Who is Travis Scott?!
Who is Travis Scott? How and why did you become one of the most successful musicians? Why do products marked with your name sell out in seconds and why can these products be worth up to ten times the original price?Jacques Bermon was born Webster II in Houston, Texas. During his childhood, he and his parents and siblings lived with his grandmother in a poorer neighborhood of South Houston. According to Scott, their neighbors were weird cults, they sold crack, they often looked more like zombies than people, and they once stole Travis' lawnmower. His mother worked as the sole breadwinner at an AT&T store, while his father tried his luck as a musician. In addition to work, the burden of the entire family remained on the disabled mother. "She's a strong woman, that's why I act the way she does. There's nothing that can stop her!" - Travis
His father taught him to play drums and piano from the age of three, so it's no wonder that he started working in the music industry after his grandfather, father and two uncles.
At the age of six, he and his parents moved to the city of Missouri, where they could live in better conditions. There was constant tension between the unemployed father and young Travis, as they both tried to learn the basics of music in the same house. Travis briefly attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, but spent the money he received from his mother for books and food on studio equipment and a for a flight to New York. During the four months he spent in the city, he slept in the houses of producers and musicians, sometimes on the floor or on sofas. She went to Los Angeles with a friend who left her without money or contacts after a disagreement. At the same time, his parents made a surprise visit to San Antonio when it was revealed that he had dropped out of college and moved to New York. His parents turned their backs and withdrew all support from him, leaving Travis on his own.
He got in touch with one of Kanye West's music engineers, who agreed to a meeting and listened to his work. Scott continued his career and uploaded more and more tracks to the Internet. During this time, his livelihood was ensured by the beats he sold to smaller studios. A few years later, T.I. and Kanye also noticed his work, and the latter offered him a contract with the G.O.O.D Music studio. Thus, he played a production role on Kanye's Yeezus and Jay Z's Magna Carta ... Holy Grail albums.
Then in 2013, T.I. founded by, signed with Grand Hustle Records studio. Before his first studio album, two mixtapes Owl Pharaoh and Days Before Rodeo were released between 2012 and 2014. (If you haven't heard it yet, it's time to check it out!)
Rodeo
In 2015, Rodeo launched Travis on his path to legend, peaking at #3 on pop albums and going platinum. The songs feature names like Quavo, The Weekend, Kanye West, Young Thug and more. Rodeo is still considered by many to be Scott's best album.
Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight
On September 2, 2016, he released his new album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, which reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart for the first time. At that time, he already had a huge fan base, but the hype around him reached its peak with the release of his next solo album. (Don't forget, he also released an album with Quavo in the meantime) and in 2017 he founded his own record label, Cactus Jack Records.
Astroworld
Travis sees Astroworld as a true sequel to Rodeo. His albums released between the two records were released so that he could release his ideas and devote his full attention to the creation of Astroworld. The album was named after an amusement park in Houston that was closed during Travis' school years, and later he created a festival with the same name to promote the album. Scott gives his endless energy to his fans and the world with his songs and concerts. Over the years, Travis became famous for his crazy and dangerous live shows, which got the rapper into serious trouble. In 2017, he was arrested for inciting a riot when he asked his fans to storm the stage. Why do you treat your fans this way? Travis thinks about his intellectually disabled brother, Marcus, at his concerts and sees what his fans can experience from his perspective. "I bring these guys on stage from the bottom of my heart, I know what it would mean to my brother if his favorite artist called him over. Every time I think of him."
Jackboys
The album released jointly with the artists of Cactus Jack Records (Don Toliver, Sheck Wes) arrived at the end of 2019 with the participation of Young Thug. Highest in The Room was the lead single on the Hot 100 chart, making it Travis' second No. 1 after the success of Sicko Mode.

Fortnite Battle Royale
2020 promises to be a rather difficult year, due to Covid-19, most of the concerts and festivals have been canceled or postponed. However, in a surprising, unusual way, we were still able to experience the magic of live shows. Together, Epic Games and Travis Scott brought the Astroworld feeling to millions of gamers and premiered La Flame's track with Kid Cudi, which earned him the number one spot on the Hot100. If the game itself didn't grab you, you can watch the concert again on YouTube.
Travis' creativity
The Rodeo toy figure, the Astroword Travis head or the merch that sells out within tenths of a second all prove that Travis Scott is a creative and marketing genius. In addition to being one of the most successful speakers of recent times, he is also an excellent businessman.
Cactus Jack x Nike
Something new and innovative that we already saw in 2009. I could best compare the success of Travis and Nike to the Air Yeezy era, with the difference that this time the American sports brand had more to eat than to save on royalties.
